Bluefin TV Films Latest Series Of 'Mysteries At The Museum'

News Image
Now in its eighteenth series, 'Mysteries at the Museum' is one of the longest running travel shows.

The series takes an in-depth look at some of the world's most important historical artefacts, the museums that house them and the fascinating stories behind them.

Bluefin Television have been working with Optomen Television and the Travel Channel for the last four years and are currently filming in Europe. They have been filming in Switzerland, Italy, Norway and the UK for the latest series.

Each story interweaves various shots of the artefact, museum and city with an expert interview telling the story.

DoP, Ant Leake, said: "We use the Canon C300 Mk II camera with a variety of custom settings for interviews and B-roll. At any given time there are teams working all over the world so a consistent look is essential. We make extensive use of track & dolly and jib-arms as shot variety is crucial for the fast-cut edit style. When the team arrives from the US we hit the ground running, covering up to three countries in a week. We have travelled all over Europe with the series, visiting Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, Romania, Italy, Spain, Ireland and the UK. It's hard work and long days but with really interesting subject matter and stories so it's very worthwhile and enjoyable."

The series is currently airing on the Travel Channel in the US and the UK.
Bluefin Television supply equipped camera-crews to both broadcast & corporate clients and also offer a full equipment dry-hire and specialist filming service.
