German company choose Leitch NEXIO server

Leitch Technology have sold their new generation scaleable NEXIO server to the Digital Playout Center (DPC) GmbH, a subscription television station based in Unterfoehring, near Munich.
DPC GmbH operates and broadcasts more than 100 analogue and digital satellite channels, consisting of free to air and Pay TV services, business and interactive television, as well as DVB radio and IP Multicasting. The facility needed a scaleable server system for the launch of two new movie channels, and the new NEXIO generation of server with integrated FTP gateway provided a compact solution at a competitive price.
"We know Leitch as they have supplied technology to us before, and the NEXIO range gives us a scaleable system in a cost-effective way," said Stefan Hennecke, head of broadcast engineering, DPC.
NEXIO is a modular, scaleable and highly cost-effective new server system for transmission and news environments, which offers integrated applications platforms for editing, browsing and media management across a multi-tiered storage hierarchy. NEXIO supports multiple compression formats in both standard and high definition, industry-standard control protocols, third-party file formats and ASI interface, providing broadcasters with the flexibility they need to meet any future requirements.
