Leitch's NEXIO server solution provides foundation for CHUM Television
Leitch Technology Corporation, a leading provider of SD/HD solutions for professional digital video, has announced that veteran Canadian broadcaster CHUM Limited has selected Leitch's NEXIO server system for its broadcast facilities in Calgary and Toronto.
The main facility in Toronto will feature a NEXIO integrated storage transmission server that will transfer content to the facility in Calgary, which is slated to become a major Western hub for CHUM Television. The Calgary system is a fully mirrored 24-channel NEXIO shared storage transmission server solution with over 600 hours of storage. CHUM Television's media content will be protected by Leitch's patented and EmmyR award-winning RAIDsoft system.
The complete NEXIO solution includes Leitch's Ingest Control Manager(tm) for device control and ingest management; NEXIO Pilot, an SNMP-based monitoring application; and the NEXIO Playlist event sequencer for content playout, which allows users to load, create, edit, save and play to air a list of NEXIO clips.
