JLCooper Takes Control At IBC

JLCooper, a US manufacturer of professional control, automation, synchronisation and interfacing products delivered a wealth of new developments at IBC recently.

The good news for Blackmagic Design ATEM users is that the latest firmware update for ion and Proton adds Input Source button mapping, camera control and, importantly, ATEM Television Studio HD is now supported in both devices.

A new USB version of the SloMo Mini drew attention as it is the perfect partner for Dalet Brio3 ingest and playout video server and vMix live video streaming software. SloMo Mini is robust yet compact and the high-quality T-bar and optical jog mechanism provide intuitive and precise control of both hardware and software applications.

The new MCS6 had its first showing in Europe. Available for RS422 and USB, the MCS6 is an updated version of the bestselling MCS3 controller with the same button layout and jog/shuttle in a new compact enclosure. The mapping software is for Mac and keysets are supplied for customisation and control of applications such as Media Composer, Final Cut Pro X and Pro Tools amongst others.

Atlas GPI is a highly programmable crosspoint smart switch matrix and logic processor. It is extremely flexible and accepts 24 GPI inputs and sums these using Boolean expressions to generate GP outputs. Atlas GPI incorporates output inversion delays and pulse and has 24 TTL/CMOS compatible inputs and parallel opto-isolated inputs and is destined to prove invaluable to broadcast, streaming media networks, news production and system designers.
