Lipsync Post install dual-gauge Northlight

FilmLight, pioneers of digital film technology, have announced that Lipsync Post have taken delivery of the world’s first dual-gauge Northlight.
The 16/35mm high-quality pin-registered film scanner, launched at IBC 2003, will be installed in Lipsync’s digital lab in their Wardour Street facility.
Lipsync Post purchased their first Northlight scanner in the spring of 2003 and doubled their capacity while broadening the range of work with the acquisition of a second system in November.
Lipsync’s Head of Post Production Kevin Phelan explained: “Over the last 18 months we have invested more than £2 million in technology and resources to establish our digital lab – now arguably one of the best equipped in the world.
“Two Arri Laser film recorders, Quantel’s iQ grading and compositing system and now a second Northlight film scanner, give us the tools to handle any and every aspect of the digital intermediate process. The acquisition of the latest dual-gauge Northlight will also give us the additional flexibility to scan from 16mm with the same unparalleled image quality.”
