Thomson announce US government orders of over $1.4m

Thomson have received a series of orders from key US agencies worth more than $1.4 million.
The orders span the Grass Valley broadcast, digital news production and film imaging product lines.
The NASA Langley Research Centre added a Grass Valley PVS 1100 Profile XP Media Platform server, NewsEdit XT nonlinear editor, a Concerto Series multi-format router and Gecko Signal Management System modular products to their existing Grass Valley Open Storage Area Network. Additionally, the Marshall Space Flight Centre in Huntsville, Alabama purchased an LDK 150 DVCPRO50 camcorder.
The International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB), which provides administrative and engineering support for US government-funded non-military international broadcast services ordered their second Kalypso Video Production Centre in two years – and has added two M-2100 SD master control switchers to their operation. “The reliability, capabilities, affordability of Grass Valley digital production products – as well as the breadth and depth of our product lines – are all very positive factors for Thomson as it expands its products and solutions for the government sector, including agencies, military and non-military networks, and other facilities,” said Marc Valentin, president of Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions.
