Belgium's Outside Broadcast Purchases Grass Valley HD Cameras

Outside Broadcast, one of the leading OB van production companies in Belgium, is upgrading all of its cameras to include the latest high-definition (HD) acquisition advances with the purchase of 28 Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite WorldCam HD cameras and a Grass Valley LDK 8300 Super SloMo HD camera.
The new cameras will be used to support its impressive list of broadcast clients that cover all of the most high-profile sporting events in Belgium and throughout Europe as well as live entertainment and corporate events.
The significant Grass Valley camera order was placed at the beginning of April and Outside Broadcast will take delivery of the cameras at the end of the month and begin using them immediately.
The new cameras - to be paired with the company's existing Grass Valley Trinix and Concerto Series routers Kayak HD video production switchers and GeckoFlex signal processing equipment - offer the best signal processing features in the industry and the ability to operate in all HD formats. The cameras are also durable enough to stand up to daily production on the field.

Specialising in a variety of broadcast production services, Outside Broadcast operates six OB vans, two portable flyway kits and three HD production studios in Belgium. For the past 20 years the company has used another vendor exclusively for its cameras, but is now standardising its entire inventory on Grass Valley cameras for all of its live remote production needs.

The Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite WorldCam and LDK 8300 both offer the ability to capture images in both 1080i and 720p formats. The LDK 8300 Super SloMo camera can also operate at 1x, 2x, 3x (selectable) speeds and provides the best picture quality for slow motion replay available anywhere, due to Grass Valley's exclusive AnyLight flicker reduction technology and a signal-to-noise ratio of 57 dB on the combined output (vs. 50dB for the other cameras on the market).
