ATG router orders pass fifty mark

ATG Broadcast have received an order from a major UK broadcaster for their recently-introduced PPR-4 postproduction router.
The contract is for 11 units to be installed at a regional control and playout centre scheduled on air next summer. Over 50 of the ATG routers have now been sold for a variety of broadcast and post-production applications.
Introduced in July and first exhibited at IBC 2003, the PPR-4 is a four-input 1U model for use with postproduction workstations. It provides a highly cost-efficient alternative to buying multiple routers for video, audio and control switching. The PPR-4 is optimised to enable easy integration into a workstation. Each of its four inputs has an associated video feed, four channels of audio and a serial control path. The video channel can pass analogue, SDV or HD; the audio can be either analogue or digital. Selection is via dedicated backlit front-panel pushbuttons.
ATG Broadcast Managing Director Graham Buchanan said: "The PPR-4 was originally designed for a specific systems integration application. The response from programme-makers and broadcasters has proved very encouraging since we decided to include the router in our standard product range."
