APT APPOINTS BROADCOM AS UK DISTRIBUTOR

APT (Audio Processing Technology) have appointed Broadcom Limited as exclusive UK distributor across its entire range of audio data compression products.
Broadcom supplies specialist engineering and technical services to broadcasters and audio professionals. Among the range of services it offers are studio design, transmission and distribution networks and AM FM DAB audio streaming process.
Since its appointment, Broadcom has been concentrating its sales efforts on APT’s new WorldNet Rio and Milano units, both of which feature Standard apt-XÔ and Enhanced 16, 20 and 24-bit apt-XÔ - a real time digital audio data reduction system that compresses audio samples by a factor of 4:1 with no perceived audio degradation and negligible coding delay.
Managing director Mark Thom says: “Our technical director, Peter Frost, has arranged a number of comparative listening tests, which have been well attended by broadcast customers. Enhanced apt-XÔ is a major step forward for the industry and as a result the APT range is generating a great deal of interest amongst end users.”
