LIPSYNC’S BIG JOB ON ‘LITTLE’ SEQUEL

SOHO-based production house Lipsync Post have scored a major success in producing trailers for the film ‘Stuart Little 2’.
Following on from 1999’s hit release ‘Stuart Little’, Columbia Pictures tasked the company with developing an eye-catching sequence to whet the appetites of cinema-goers prior to its summer release.
The demands of the contract required Lipsync to produce the trailer in 34 versions and on time to be trailed onto the front last year’s blockbuster ‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’.
The final trailer that was shown in theatres throughout the country showed Stuart flying a plane in a skywriting sequence. The scene was made possible using Mac and NT platforms to create the complex and realistic images involved.
Director of Lipsync Post, Peter Hampton said: “A key consideration of our client was the maintenance of high quality throughout the process, working with a first generation negative.”
The company completed the trailers, from the title sequences and digital output, to graphics and sound dubbing, in-house and within the deadline with the assistance of its two Dolby dubbing theatres.
The power of technology involved combined with the training and skill of staff enabled the company to meet the deadline, according to Mr Hampton: “The fact that we were able to fulfil these requirements to a stringent deadline says as much about the ability of our team as it does about the investment we’ve made in technology.”
‘Stuart Little 2’ is due to be released throughout the UK in the summer. (GMcG)
