Lipsync Create Ice Age 4 Campaign
Creative Agency LipSync have developed the global TV and theatrical campaign for 20th Century Fox’s Ice Age 4: Continental Drift Blu-ray and DVD release.
This underlines The LipSync Group’s position as one of the leading combined creative, production and post production facilities in Soho, able to deliver digital and audio visual campaigns from conception to delivery.
The 30 second event spot will air in UK cinemas now and on TV and VOD from Monday 26 November - including a coveted spot in ‘The X Factor’ final on Sunday 9 December. It was produced by Senior Producer Anna Urban-Large, and directed by Creative Director Howard Watkins. Copy was written by Agency Director Louise Kean, and the score composed by Rob Hughes, Senior Re-recording Mixer.
The VFX were supervised by Sean Farrow, VFX Supervisor. The rotoscoping process to extract ‘Scrat’ from original Ice Age footage began before principle photography, and VFX supplied an on-set teamduring the shoot to oversee photography of all visual effects plates. LipSync’s VFX team worked on twenty shots used in the commercial, which included digital matte paintings, CG snow FX,interactive footfalls and shadows, digital flare FX and multi-plate compositing.
Yasmin Rahman, Creative Development Controller, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, said: “Working with the LipSync team on our Ice Age campaign has, as always, been a seamless and exciting experience.
Their attention to detail, passion, enthusiasm and desire for perfection isequalled only by their creativity and ability to smoothly deliver against all the curve balls we have thrown at them. The Ice Age event Christmas spot has been a long time in the planning, but from the initial stages LipSync were on board with our vision, adding to it, developing and growing it to what we see now; a finished ad that we are all truly delighted with.”

Howard Watkins, Creative Director, added: “Our unique 'joined-up' set-up enabled us to have all areas of the production and post-production working in tandem. This meant that, although the timescale was demanding, the creativity was never compromised."
LipSync also created the 30”, 20” and 15” campaign that will air internationally.
LipSync Creative has recently produced film and TV advertising for campaigns as diverse as Prometheus, We Need To Talk About Kevin, and Michael McIntyre’s Showtime. 2012 also saw the first feature length LipSync production, the Amazon top 20 fitness title The 60 Second Promise: Full Body Fat Burn Workout, distributed internationally by Metrodome PLC.
