Campaign Launches To Support Work Experience Placements

News Image
The 2016 Mayor's Fund for London Creativity Works is calling on employers to provide work experience placements to young people in London who are hoping to work in the film industry.

Creativity Works allows young people, aged between 18 and 24, to gain the skills and experience they need to compete in the creative industries. 'Creativity Works: Film', which follows other successful programmes in Fashion, Theatre, Design and Live Events, will provide creative professional settings for participants to grow, develop their ideas and experience real working environments.

Companies should be able to take on young professionals, hosting them for between one to six weeks, following industry-led training. They should also be committed to recruiting fresh talent, addressing the industry's diversity deficit, and working with local young people to realise their potential. Creativity Works can help with travel and expenses if required, as well as wage subsidies to support long-term employment following the programme. Entry-level roles are sought in all departments.
