ANNOVA Systems and is subsidiary, plantri, have worked together to deliver Social News content via NewsBoard to the Newsroom. The new OpenMedia Social Media solutions mean that social networks – such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube are now an exploitable resource within OpenMedia.

With Newsroom teams always looking for new ways of interrogating data and content, and wanting fresh ways to report and publish the information they create, the NewsBoard framework enables the creation of new Dashboards combining content, wires, social media and broadcast workflows into a modern web based application.

With NewsBoard the Newsroom can create widgets for any source connected to OpenMedia. Widgets for Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Google Custom Search and Microsoft Bot Framework can be combined with MAM content and OpenMedia stories to show at a glance how a user's content is followed in the social media marketplace.

A NewsBoard can be created for reporting, planning, tracking trends, and statistics.

Also at IBC2016, the Messenger Widget has been presented for the first time. This opens up a new dimension of news generation, utilising the Microsoft Bot Framework to create an input channel from mobile device Messenger Apps.

The Messenger Widget enables a bidirectional communication channel between the broadcaster and the individual user. Users can contribute content such as images, video-clips and comments to editorial staff with automated responses. Journalists can contact with users directly to give feedback or request additional information.

All user content can be sent to the OpenMedia planning system and be used as live content.

Available Messenger channels are Facebook Messenger, Telegram and Skype.
