Third Series For Scot Squad

Filming has commenced on the third series of BBC Scotland's 'Scot Squad'.

The seven-part series, which also includes a Christmas special, is a Comedy Unit production for BBC Scotland. Jack Docherty, Jordan Young, Sally Reid, Darren Connell, Grado, Manjot Sumal, Chris Forbes, Ashely Smith, James Kirk, Karen Bartke and ML Stone all return for the new series as they carry out their duty to protect and serve. Guest stars will be announced in due course.

Scot Squad is part-improvised, part-scripted comedy and is being filmed in locations around Glasgow over the next six weeks. It is expected to air on BBC One Scotland later this year.

Executive Producers for series three are Ewan Angus for BBC Scotland and Rab Christie for The Comedy Unit, while Ian 'Noddy' Davidson returns as director and producer.

Rab Christie, Executive Producer, said: "The Comedy Unit is delighted to be filming a third series of Scot Squad for BBC Scotland. From Chief to Volunteer, the nation's heroes are pumped and ready to get back out and tackle crime in all its guises – on the street, on the phone, at the desk. The cast of cops and robbers includes brand new comic talent, familiar faces and one or two national treasures who rub shoulders with the Squad."

Ewan Angus, BBC Scotland's Executive Producer, added: "It'll be great to welcome the Squad back. The previous series have been in high demand as a training resource for police forces worldwide."

A spokesman for Scot Squad commented: "We're glad to see that the BBC cameras are out with us again, catching us catching them, the criminals."
