Igloo Post Complete Work On Wildlife Documentaries

Boutique London post house Igloo Post have just completed three one-hour Wildlife UHD documentaries for Earth Touch, which will be broadcast by National Geographic & The Smithsonian Channel later this year.

Viper Queens, Killer Hornets & Lizard King were all conformed, graded and delivered in Igloo's new Quantel Rio High Dynamic Range & High Frame Rate 4K finishing suite.

Igloo's MD and founder, Brian Ainsworth, says: "I'm really pleased with how easy the transition has been for us to move into the UHD & 4K playing field. We have over the past few years completed the online, grade and deliverables for over 75 hours of HD & 2K content, and although the 4K HDR assets take a little longer to get in and out of the system, once they are ingested the extraordinary power of SAM's (Snell Advanced Media's) Quantel Rio takes over and allows us to concentrate on the creative fun part of the job."

Igloo are widely known as 'Wildlife Specialists', which Brian relishes in. "I find Natural History thoroughly fascinating and feel blessed to be working in this field. Almost everyday I discover an interesting fact or am blown away by an animal's natural behaviour. The majority of Wildlife programs we work on use a plethora of cameras like Phantom, ARRI Alexa, RED Epic, Sony FS7 – even GoPro, which can make for a challenging, but enjoyable match grade. Besides, we don't just do wildlife. Humans are animals too... Just not my favourite type... Far too aggressive!"
