The Completion Fund launched to help finish shorts

The Film Council's New Cinema Fund and FilmFour Lab have announced they are to launch The Completion Fund, a £50,000 scheme developed to support filmmakers and production companies in securing vital funds for the completion of short film projects that have already been shot but lack the resources to finish.
Maya Vision International will be the managing company responsible for shortlisting and selecting the films, in consultation with the New Cinema Fund and FilmFour Lab, and will oversee all aspects of the completion process to contractual and physical delivery. Maya Vision International have produced a diverse range of dramas, documentaries, short and feature films since they were formed in 1983, and have always been committed to nurturing and supporting emerging filmmakers across a variety of genres and budgets.
The fund is a part of an ambitious programme of four schemes set up by the New Cinema Fund and FilmFour Lab, enabling and encouraging directors, producers and creative talent to push their creative boundaries. There is an investment of £250,000 a year between the four schemes: Cinema Extreme, Comedy, Internet/Viral and the Completion Fund for shorts.
