Sony bundle Pinnacle Edition DV with selected DVCAMs

As of the beginning of the year, camera enthusiasts and small production companies have the unique opportunity to purchase a complete PC editing content solution with one of the leading DV tools on the market.
Customers who purchase one of the Sony DSR-PD150P, DSR-PDX10P and DSR-250P DVCAM Camcorders, or the Sony DSR-11 VTR, will now receive Pinnacle Edition 4.52 DV editing software as standard.
Also included in this offer is an i.Link PCI board for desktops and an i.link cable.
"This is the perfect 'ready-to-work' package for DVCAM customers," said Olivier Bovis, DVCAM Marketing Manager, Sony Business Europe. "By enhancing the functionality and ease-of-use of Pinnacle's software, this promotion provides users with a complete value-added package offering one of the most advanced productivity solutions on the market."
Thomas Reder, Director of Business Development at Pinnacle said: "Sony's state-of-the-art DVCAM camcorders and VTR, combined with the Edition editing software, offer new opportunities in a variety of professional applications. This end-to-end package utilises the latest technology to provide a sophisticated and user-friendly solution."
The latest version of the Pinnacle Edition software also now includes the 'Xreceive' module which makes the editing software compatible with Sony's DSR-DU1 compact hard drive. This hard-disk unit is not a replacement media for tape, but a complementary product. The DSR-DU1 enhances the DVCAM production chain by providing production efficiency, allowing instant content checking, EDL creation and quick start of editing, as well as acquisition in both media (hard-disk and tape), saving hours of editing time.
Edition was launched in 2002 to critical acclaim and was specifically developed for the DV format. Built-in effects include panning, zooming, and ultra-smooth slow motion. There are powerful colour correction tools such as RGB gamma, gain, equalise, luminance, saturation and hue control. Background rendering provides for true multi-tasking while InstantSave technology prevents the loss of any work in a system failure. Content can be exported in MPEG 1 or 2 format, and optimised for web DVD, or videotape.
Sony say this offer is available across Europe and is subject to availability.
