APTN Manila move to new office

APTN, along with colleagues at AP Text and Photos, moved to new office space in Manila at the end of September.
The new location is just around the corner from the previous office, but offers more space and, most importantly, provides a rooftop live position to complement APTN’s existing microwave link to the Philippines earth station.
The new bureau is located in the Ermita district of Manila. Journalists frequently base themselves in one of the hotels in the area, which is also where many political events take place. The bureau is centrally located for broadcasters working in the area, and possesses the only microwave link to the Philippines earth station in the neighbourhood, allowing transmission of live and taped material from the bureau.
On the rooftop of the Diamond Hotel is APTN’s dual aspect live standup position, offering backdrops of both Manila bay and Manila city’s business district. In addition to live operations, the bureau offers editing facilities to clients.
The bureau is staffed by Senior Producer Celine Rosario and Senior Video Journalist Kiko Rosario, whose client-focused approach, coupled with the access to APTN footage, are a major attraction for clients.
