George Clarke's House Rules (w/t) Announced
George Clarke's House Rules (w/t), has been commissioned by Channel 4, the broadcaster has announced. The 4x60' series will reveal how the inside of old houses can be transformed into modern interiors, without ignoring the property's history.
Each programme will see George take on two different makeovers on properties from the same architectural era. He will focus on the design problems when it comes to achieving a modern look in a period home, but ultimately demonstrating how it can be done, and blending the old and new.
The series will also answer a number of home questions, such as what should be kept or thrown away, what should be restored, and how today's houses can be transformed to work for families today.
Commenting on the series, George said: "I am thrilled to be making this amazing new series. I am passionate about period property and this is a real opportunity for me to explore design and interiors in a way I have never done before. I can't wait to get stuck in."
Gill Wilson, Head of Features at Channel 4, added: "In a world with infinite choice when it comes to home design, it is a pleasure, not to mention relief, getting advice from the best."
