Hat Trick Productions To Produce New Series Of 'Room 101'

It has been announced BBC One's iconic programme 'Room 101' has gone back into production.

Hat Trick Productions is producing a fifth, eight-part series to be screened in early 2016.

The new format is inspired by Hat Trick Productions' original 'Room 101', which ran for 11 successful series between 1994 and 2007.
The show is produced by Aoife Bower (Would I Lie To You?), while the Series Producer is Adam Copeland (10 O'Clock Live, John Bishop's Britain).

The Executive Producers are Stu Mather (Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Would I Lie to You?) and Richard Wilson (Have I Got News for You, The Revolution Will Be Televised).

The concept of 'Room 101' was created by author George Orwell as a torture chamber in his classic novel 1984. Famously, he named Room 101 after a meeting room at BBC Broadcasting House.

The fast-moving formatted chat show sees Frank refereeing three celebrities each week as they compete for his approval to banish their top peeve, annoyance, irritation or worst nightmare to the depths of Room 101 forever.

Guests confirmed for the new series include: David Tennant, Sir Trevor McDonald, Noel Fielding, Claudia Winkleman, Heston Blumenthal, Russell Howard, Katie Price, Meera Syal, Greg James, John Humphrys, Russell Kane, John Torode, Katherine Parkinson, Greg Davies, James Acaster, Kirsty Wark, Shaun Ryder, Sam Simmons, Bridget Christie, Robert Peston, Ian Wright, Joanna Scanlan, Aisling Bea, and Adil Ray.

Speaking about the new series, Frank Skinner said: "It's great to be back as the gatekeeper of Room 101 with another bunch of brilliant celebrity complainers. They are the whinge beneath my wings."
