Mark Tiedemann joins forces with Brave

The Brave Film Company, whose stable of high profile directors includes Sara Dunlop, Selby, Lucy Blakstad, David Hartley, Jason Smith, Alex Winter, Peluca and Sue Worthy have announce the addition of one of New York's most popular and funniest commercials directors, Mark Tiedemann.
Raised in Manhattan, Mark received a BA in Religious Studies from Trinity College, Connecticut, and having decided not to pursue a clerical career, he began work on Wall Street. He spent four years working as a retail stockbroker for Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, then left to join Caribiner Inc where he sold corporate shows.
After several years in finance, Mark decided to follow his true passion and began his career in film. He edited music videos, made a few commercials and a documentary, but realised his skills lay in making people laugh. He went to work at Comedy Central and created The Buddy Scott Trio spots. This campaign was strong enough to get him signed to New York production company Crossroads as a director.
Mark is a multi-award winning director, who can boast a Clio, three AICP Awards, a British Television Award, and an International Broadcasting Award for his work. Previously represented in the UK by HLA, he directed the launch campaigns for Ikea (St Lukes) and Sony Playstation (Simons Palmer Denton Clemmow Johnson). His other UK work includes campaigns for Visa (Saatchi & Saatchi), McDonald's (Leo Burnett), Mars (AMV) and Norwich Union.
In addition to his advertising work, Mark has directed several short films including 'Spunk: The Tonya Harding Story', which parodies the tragic yet hilarious events preceding the Winter Olympics of 1994. In 2000 one of Mark's shorts, 'Girl Go Boom', played at the Sundance Film Festival. In this year he also returned to Comedy Central, writing and directing a campaign for German actress, Anke Engelke, called 'It's her'.
Mark has directed high profile campaigns through Celsius Films in New York for clients including Staples, Chevy, Dish TV, Campbell's, Lysol, Schick, Motorola, ATT, Kia and Baby Ruth.
Michelle Hillman, MD of the Brave Film Company, said: "We are delighted to have Mark joining us and he will complement our other directors perfectly. When I watched his showreel I knew we had to get him on board."
