IDX switch to focus on charging

With IDX’s ENDURA E-50 and E-80 V-mount batteries now well established and offering high capacities of 55 and 82Wh, the company's attention is now focused on charging.
Three new chargers have been introduced this year. The new version of the popular VL-2Plus 2-channel quick charger/power supply is a lighter and tougher go-anywhere workhorse for direct use with V-mount batteries. Likewise the new, light JL-2Plus offers similar power supply/quick charging for two NiCd or Li-ion NP batteries. This can also now be upgraded to the VL-2Plus so users can smoothly migrate from NP (NiCd or Li-ion) to the popular V-mount Endura batteries.
High capacity means sequential charging of multiple batteries can become too long. The 5/7.5 hours for two E-50/E-80 batteries on the VL-2Plus is good for overnight turnarounds. IDX’s Full Power Charge (FPC) allows the 4-channel sequential VL-4 to charge four E-80s in just 11 hours. To get faster turnaround and cover larger-scale needs, simultaneous charging is the only answer. The 4-channel VL-4S and the third newcomer, the 8-channel Endura Tower ET-8, operates like an individual charger for each battery, with each receiving a full, quick charge in the shortest possible time.
The ET-8 is true IDX innovation. It adds LEDs to indicate ‘ready for use’ and ‘full charge’ allowing the quickest possible re-use of batteries. It introduces a completely new format with a small footprint which can tidy the shelves of so many battery rooms. The ET-8 also provides straightforward front access to all batteries ending the usual groping over shelves and chargers in the dark.
