Klvr To Launch The Charger Pro

Klvr is to launch the Charger Pro at ISE 2025 (Fira de Barcelona, 4-7 February. Stand #5.F100), creating a simple way to eliminate extensive use of single-use batteries from live events and AV.
The Klvr Charger Pro enables sound engineers and AV technicians across music venues, conference halls, universities, houses of worship, and corporate facilities to move beyond disposable batteries or inflexible proprietary charging solutions, reducing environmental waste and saving costs.
Over one million disposable batteries are used every year by entertainment venues, theatres and production companies in Norway alone (Kulturrum Report), representing a significant environmental and cost issue. Sonic City, a medium sized Norwegian music touring and event production company, estimates it uses 20,000 batteries a year. Disposable AA/ AAA batteries are still widely used because of a lack of feasible rechargeable options. Existing rechargeable batteries offered by major AV equipment manufacturers can be costly and impractical due to a lack of compatibility with devices from different vendors. Meanwhile, consumer rechargeables aren’t adequate in professional environments because of insufficient voltage delivery and reliability.
Founded by sound engineers, music artists and tour managers, Klvr builds on decades of first-hand experience to challenge the status quo of battery wastage in live events, entertainment and pro AV, offering a reliable, flexible, and cost-effective solution that reduces waste without compromising performance. Klvr Charger Pro provides a simple, flexible and affordable alternative to proprietary charging solutions, enabling users to recharge standard-sized AA or AAA batteries for wireless microphones, in-ear monitors and other pro audio devices.
Alex Penn, Commercial Director at UK pro-audio service provider 22Live, said: "The live entertainment industry wants to do more to reduce its environmental impact. The touring world has been looking for a way to stop throwing away batteries for years but standard rechargeable batteries don’t give the right voltage or performance levels. Klvr offers a cost effective solution that’s flexible to be used across the full range of mics, receivers and other devices that are used at every show. It’s good news for the industry and a logical choice for us to support. Festivals and gig venues have done so much to cut back on plastic beer cups, now everyone can also cut down on battery waste."
Measures like the EU’s Battery Regulation 2023/1542 have introduced comprehensive steps to reduce battery wastage and promote responsible usage, aiming to reach a recycling rate of 73 percent while committing to assess whether to phase out the general use of non-rechargeable batteries by 2030. By using rechargeable batteries to their full potential, and recycling after end of life, organisations can reduce their environmental impact in line with regulatory shifts and achieve considerable cost savings.
Klvr Charger Pro includes 48 custom 1.5V Li-Ion Klvr batteries, each with 1200 charging cycles and 30% higher capacity than regular commercial rechargeables. An intelligent discharge curve ensures professional devices get the correct power throughout the full battery lifetime to maximise performance. Designed for efficiency and flexibility, the mounted rack charger takes up minimal space. With a capacity of 48 batteries, up to 24 AA-powered devices (2x AA per device) can be supported in a single 19” rack unit. AAA batteries can be charged in the same physical slots as the AA batteries, allowing users to recharge batteries for a wide array of devices at the same time.
Klvr Charger Pro also includes the lightweight, 48-battery capacity Klvr Pouch, enabling users to travel seamlessly while touring, going through airport security or to remote production locations. Through intuitive front displays and a software interface via the Klvr Control monitoring and control system, users can easily check battery levels, recharge times and adjust settings from their networked laptops or computers.
