Murder In Successville Returns

News Image
BBC Three has confirmed a new series of Murder In Successville is to return to the channel.

The hybrid comedy by Tiger Aspect will see DI Sleet (Tom Davis) return to the town of Successville to investigate another string of murders – with a selection of celebrity sidekicks to help him out.

Series one of the show saw famous faces like Dermot O'Leary, Louis Smith, Jamie Laing, Deborah Meaden, Kimberly Wyatt and Greg James sign up for the challenge, which saw them dropped into Successville, where they attempted to assist DI Sleet solve a murder.

In the new series, some of today's celebrities – played by Tom Stourton, Colin Hoult, and Cariad Lloyd – will be seen as never before, while DI Sleet is expected to throw his helpers into ridiculous, and often hilarious, predicaments.

Commenting on his return, Tom Davis said: "I'm over the moon to be heading back to Successville and I would like to thank the BBC for embracing the madness of the show. We have loads more mad places to go and I can't wait to see who we are taking there. LET'S GO SOLVE A CRIME."

Damian Kavanagh, Controller of BBC Three, added: "BBC Three will always be home to the best British creative ideas and talent, and Murder In Successville is no exception. The guys were amazing in the first series and I am sure we will have celebs knocking down our door to get under DI Sleet this time. Let's go solve a crime!"

"I'm so excited that the brilliant Murder In Successville is coming back. I can't wait to find out which celebs will dare to join DI Sleet in the new series, and wish the precarious residents of Successville the best of luck. Let's go solve a crime," commented Ed Sleeman, Commissioning Editor for the BBC.

Tiger Aspect's Head of Comedy Entertainment, Andy Brereton, said: "It's amazing to have another chance at murder – most people only get one stab at it. Will the sidekicks feel the heat when they join DI Sleet on the beat? Or can they call upon the science of deduction to solve a Murder In Successville? Let's go solve a crime."

The series will be directed by James de Frond, and shooting is expected to commence in January 2016. It will transmit later in the year.
