Smithson To Solve Flight 447 Mystery

A renowned independent production company has been commissioned by BBC Two and the PBS series NOVA to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Air France Flight 447 on 1st June 2009.
Headed by Darlow Smithson Productions (DSP), Mystery Of Flight 447 (W/T, 1x60’) will assemble a team of highly credible experts to piece together the evidence and try to explain how one of the world's most technologically advanced passenger jets could vanish from the skies.
The film will use CGI to bring the story to life as the team visits some of the world’s leading research centres to carry out experiments to try and explain what went so catastrophically wrong. Every contributing factor will be thoroughly examined and questioned – from the weather to the possibility of faulty flight equipment.
Once the investigation is complete, the resulting data will be tested in a flight simulation of the same route taken by Flight 447, in identical conditions, to reveal exactly what the experts think happened.
