German production house 24/25 choose Quantel

The Cologne-based production house 24/25 has become the latest European customer to install a Quantel eQ resolution co-existent editing system.
“We work mainly in the fields of entertainment, TV-magazines and film,” said Marc Raabe, Joint General Manager and co-founder of the production and post house.
“Due to an over capacity in our edit suites - we have many jobs in our pocket - we decided to buy another editing system which can handle both simple projects and high-end productions. We were looking for a system with a future and with timeline-based editing which can deliver visual effects and graphics.”
24/25 has been using an Editbox successfully since 1999, one of the reasons Raabe says that made the decision to buy more Quantel kit fairly easy. Raabe describes himself as a ‘real production enthusiast’ while co-founder Roland Gross looks after the shoots and the teams.
“We both love the pure philosophy and the technology of the systems coming from Newbury,” he said. “We are happy that we need not spend too much time on the computer processing but can concentrate on our customers and their films. Our projects for RTL, SAT.1, Pro7, Endemol, Bertelsmann, Sixt and the Bundeswehr (German Army), show that we can realise creative and high quality results. With eQ we can now deliver HD processing to our customers and we would like to become part of a new quality standard for TV and industrial films.”
