Turkish Broadcasters Standardise On Grass Valley EDIUS Nonlinear Editing System

Two popular national television channels in Turkey, Kanal-1 and Habertürk, have chosen a total of nine Grass Valley EDIUS SP analog and digital editors and 14 EDIUS NX Express high performance digital editing workstations from Thomson, a leader in video solutions.
All of the editors are networked together using gigabit Ethernet and are directly connected to both the production environment and to the channels' Playbox automated playout system.
The two channels are part of Ciner Media Group, one of the largest media groups in Turkey.
Semih Kaya, Technical Coordinator of Kanal-1 and Habertürk, said: "We chose the EDIUS NLE systems to go with our Playbox playout system because of the easy workflow and simple integration with the Sony XDCAM format for tapeless production. Because it needs no rendering time, this is one of the fastest workflows for XDCAM."

Kanal-1 is a general entertainment channel and Habertürk is a popular and innovative news service. The EDIUS NLE systems are used across the news, sports and movie production operations of both channels.
