Bayerischer Rundfunk Adopts Project Parking

News Image
German public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) has selected Marquis' Project Parking to manage edit storage at its Munich headquarters. The broadcaster already uses Marquis's interoperability engine Medway and will now also use Project Parking to transfer projects, back-up content and allow completed, parked projects to be restored.

Medway was supplied as part of a new AVID edit and interplay PAM and MAM system installed at the Munich headquarters last year. Medway is used to integrate the movement of media and metadata in and out of the AVID and other component systems. BR production staff will also use Project Parking to help manage, park and restore all projects produced.
"Project Parking enables you to take complete control of your Avid Edit storage. By analysing all of your Avid projects and media you can acknowledge which projects are using up the most space, what workspaces the media is residing in and identify orphan or duplicate media. Project Parking cleverly then gives you the tools to either transfer, archive or delete this material," said Ben Miles, business development manager, Marquis. "With Project Parking, users can create project archives based upon bin selection, move projects between tiers of storage or transfer to different locations easily. After archiving and transferring media off-line, selected Projects or individual Bins can be restored and merged with the original Project or into new Projects enabling the effortless creation of Highlights, revisited and revision programs."
