Miranda launch Master Control Glass Cockpit at NAB

At NAB 2002 (stand L10611), Miranda are to launch the ‘Master Control Glass Cockpit’, based on the new Oxtel Series Presmaster 2 master control switcher, as well as the Kaleido ‘virtual’ monitor wall and the iControl Web signal and equipment monitoring system.
The ‘Master Control Glass Cockpit’ offers more powerful master control switching, channel branding and monitoring.
The Oxtel Series Presmaster 2 master control switcher provides multi-transmission channel control and effective channel branding, as well as multi-group audio mixing and unmatched ease of use. New features include an enhanced system architecture, a more versatile DVE, stronger image editing, and an improved graphical user interface.
The Kaleido ‘virtual’ monitor wall enables stations to easily perform multi-step video and audio monitoring. The display is dynamically re-configurable to provide instant selection from multiple layouts for effective monitoring of different groups of signals. The system can monitor many other critical broadcast parameters, including VBI and MPEG-2 status, source identifiers and tallies, and external equipment status and alarms.
iControl Web provides monitoring and control of Miranda’s signal processing and distribution equipment from a standard Web browser, over standard IP networks. The system also permits the use of a low bit rate, low latency streaming video encoder to monitor signals in remote facilities.
Other new introductions include the DV-Bridge Pro bi-directional DV: analogue video interface; the Oxtel Series Imagestore HDTV master control and channel branding system, and extensions to the Imaging and Densité signal processing and distribution ranges.
DV-Bridge Pro extends the DV-Bridge range, and provides high-quality DV encode/decode with RGB/YUV and composite analogue video inputs and outputs. The DV-Bridge Pro also provides easy, aspect ratio conversion, and features integral audio metering.
The Oxtel Series Imagestore HDTV is a highly modular, master control and channel branding system. The entry system provides two layers of animated image insertion plus video storage, and the system can be expanded with input switching, A/B video mixing, character generation, and EAS insertion.
New introductions for the highly compact, Densité Series include the SDM-1851 five-channel, SDI to PAL/NTSC converter, which allows 50 channels of SDI conversion in the compact 2RU frame; and the SDA-1161, a SDI DA with three SDI outputs, four PAL/NTSC monitoring outputs, and two analogue audio monitoring outputs.
The Imaging Series signal processing range is also extended with the ARC-101i aspect ratio converter; the QDC-101 HDTV downconverter for transmission and production applications; plus the UVP-101i and UAP-101i universal, analogue and digital incoming feed processor modules.
