Eyeheight playout modular master control system

Eyeheight's new modular master control system, playout, is a major evolution from the presTX video and audio switching equipment family.
It enables broadcasters and systems integrators alike to configure a master control system meeting their exact current needs while retaining the option of easy and efficient future expansion. Playout is composed of seven building-blocks: base configuration unit, mix/wipe module, keyer, audio/voice-over module, internal cross-point, logo-store and dual-channel 3D DVE. These can be combined and configured to create a simple automated A/B mixer through to a full-scale multi-channel master control system with manual over-ride. The base configuration unit comprises a 1U chassis capable of housing up to three independent channels and offering the lowest cost-per channel of any scalable master control system. playout's mix/wipe module, again housing up to three channels in 1U, provides a wide range of wipes with user-preset edge characteristics, audio-follows-video, audio only, video only, audio lead and audio lag. Transitions can be performed via manual T-bar, timed with manual activation, or fully automated. Up to three keying modules with individual key, fill and background inputs plus dedicated preview output are supported within the base configuration. All keyers can be operated independently or in parallel via a TK-10 control panel. Key and transition parameters can be preset and stored in internal user memories. playout's audio and voice-over module adds dual AES audio inputs, mono mixdown and channel swap. Optional motorised faders register automated changes in audio mixing level, an essential requirement for multi-channel operation. An internal cross-point module with 12 x 4 SDI and AES digital routing is available where routing is required to be integral to the master control system. This in turn can be configured for automated operation or driven from a PP-10 programme/preset pushbutton panel. Three logo-store modules are available as part of the playout product series. Module LK-2 handles up to eight static logos with GPI selection and activation. Module BB-2 adds support for up to 64 logos with independent preview. Module BA-2 is an enhancement of the BB-2 with a wide choice of animation options. A dual channel 3D DVE module can be incorporated into playout, enabling over 100 effects ranging from simple horizontal/vertical squeeze to page turn, warp, texture and lighting.
Eyeheight managing director Martin Moore said: "The presTX product range, now used by major broadcasters, established Eyeheight as a world leader in modular master control systems. playout builds on the joint heritage of that experience and our inherently modular processing architecture."
The Eyeheight playout system is available now.
