The Royal Television Society (RTS) has launched its Television Journalism Awards 2013/2014.

This year the RTS has brought about a number of changes to the judging criteria, including the introduction of the News Technology Award, which will take over from the Innovative News Award. It recognises the most impressive achievement by an individual or team in using technology to advance television journalism.
Other changes include the Nations and Regions News Award (formerly Nations and Regions News Programme) which will now consider either a single major news story or a series of stories over the course of the year.
The Judges Award will be presented to an individual or a production team in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the advancement of Television Journalism.
Stewart Purvis, Professor of Television Journalism, City University and the new Chair of the Awards, said: "The RTS Television Journalism Awards celebrate the hard work, dedication and skill of news and current affairs journalists.
"These awards are incredibly important in recognising the extraordinary breadth of talent we have in the industry who ensure the public remains informed of today's most significant issues and stories."
The closing date for entries is 21 November 2014. All entries must have been first transmitted on television via cable or satellite in the UK between 16 November 2013 and 15 November 2014.
