BBC WiScape to unveil wireless ENG camera system at IBC

BBC WiScape, a business unit of BBC Vecta, are to unveil their new WiCam-C, a wireless camera system that transmits robust, high-quality digital pictures for the Electronic News Gathering market at IBC 2003.
The WiCam-C, which is available from September, has a compact MPEG encoding system that can be clipped on to popular ENG camcorders. The equipment has a fast set up time and can be controlled by a single operator providing extreme flexibility and efficiency for “in the field” news gatherers.
BBC WiScape will also be demonstrating the Outside Broadcast (OB) dockable WiCam-D, which gives broadcasters access to more exciting shots by enabling them to get closer to the action - bringing the atmosphere of high profile events right into the home. The WiCam-D has been used at over 250 outside broadcasts and has already revolutionised sports broadcasting, contributing to the industry plaudits received by many of its customers.
