Jim Greaves joins dB Broadcast

dB Broadcast, the UK's largest independent systems house, has appointed James (Jim) Greaves, 39, as sales manager.
He was previously senior account manager with Philips Digital Transmission Systems and prior to that worked for Snell & Wilcox, Panasonic Broadcast Europe and the BBC.
Jim Greaves has an honours degree in electronics and started his career in the broadcast industry in 1985 as a studio engineer with BBC TV East. During his six years with the BBC, he worked as a research engineer at the BBC
Research Engineering department, where he evaluated digital recording formats. In 1991 he joined Panasonic Broadcast Europe as a product manager in the broadcast and professional products division, and in 1995 Snell & Wilcox as a technical sales engineer.
Jim Greaves joined Philips Digital Transmission Systems in 1997 as a senior account manager, with responsibility for a number of key accounts - including the BBC. During his time with Philips, the company supplied all the core coding and multiplexing equipment to the BBC, including the highly successful Freeview service.
Commenting on Jim Greaves' appointment, Tom Swan, sales & marketing director for dB Broadcast, said: "Jim has experience across the whole spectrum of the broadcast industry - from research to sales and marketing. His recent experience of encoding and compression systems with Philips will be of particular value, because this is an area where dB Broadcast has established a specialist reputation.
