Universal Sound open purpose built Foley studios
Over the past two years Universal Sound have redeveloped a site in Amersham, Bucks to provide a dedicated Foley facility.
Having been based in Perivale since 1973, originally as a dubbing theatre, Universal Sound have in recent years specialized solely in the production of Foley. The new studio encompasses a features Foley suite, and a further two television drama Foley studios.
The facility provides a pleasant out of town environment to produce Foley tracks, with the additional attraction of an indoor swimming/water effects pool and garden with barbecue.
Construction was carried out by Latimer Contracting, with acoustic design provided by Noel Hill. Audio equipment was supplied by Everything Audio, with Altered Images providing projectors and picture monitors.
The new facility allows Universal Sound to provide high quality fully fitted Foley tracks at a cost effective price, with both recordists and Foley artists being in house.
