IDX exhibit lightweight charger at Video Forum

IDX are exhibiting their new charger the Endura VL-2 Plus at Video Forum in London this week.
The new lightweight IDX Endura VL-2 Plus is a two-channel, dual-format sequential charger that provides support for a wide range of IDX batteries as well as operating as a 60W power supply. At just 0.9kg it is 40% lighter than its predecessor – partly due to its new highly rugged and durable polycarbonate casing – making it ideal for all ENG and location shoots.
This is a go-anywhere workhorse, the company have said that with its quick charge current, gives optimal charging for the high capacity Endura E-50, E-50S and E-80, E-80S V-lock battery packs.
In addition, the IDX NP range, including the ever-popular Li-ion NPL-50 as well as the NiCd NP-1dx and NP-23dx batteries can also make use of the charger through the use of an A-E2NP adapter plate. And for those travelling far a field the 100-240 volt auto-ranging AC input allows operation with all the world’s mains supplies without any need of adjustment.
For an indoor location the VL-2 Plus can act as a high quality 60W camera AC adapter. Rather than being just a convenient add-on, the performance matches that of dedicated adapters. For example, noise suppression on the DC output ensures a clean and steady voltage supply and there is protection against accidental switch-off and overload damage.
