IDX batteries and power systems widely used at IBC

IDX Technology Europe scored a great success at the recent IBC Exhibition in Amsterdam, with their equipment displayed on no less than 10 stands.
Exhibitors were able to take advantage of the highest capacity lithium-ion batteries available, so their equipment ran longer between battery changes. Endura E-80 and E-50 batteries were much in evidence on the more portable displays, while fixed ‘stage’ cameras often used the AC-60 power supply which, like the batteries, comes complete with a V-mount connector to hook directly onto many of the world’s professional cameras.
Link Research who, with their Wireless Camera System, were winners of the sought-after Peter Wayne award for Technical Innovation, powered their camera and encoder/transmitter from a single E-80 battery.
Widening their appeal, IDX also showed two new camera belts designed to deliver the 7.2 volts needed for the burgeoning DV market. The belts, SD-1E and SD-1E, can carry one or two E-80 or E-50 batteries and include an efficient voltage converter to provide both 7.2 and 12 volts and offer many hours of run time with these increasingly widely used camcorders.
The ET-8 Endura tower charger attracted a good deal of attention. Offering simultaneous fast charging for eight batteries, each running their own regime, this is seen as the answer to for those who need to charge larger numbers of high-capacity batteries in the most effective way.
