Pace complete validation for Motorola MediaCipher CA
Motorola have announced that Pace Micro Technology have become the first set-top vendor to successfully complete their MediaCipher Conditional Access Validation Testing.
With the Motorola validation, Pace can now offer digital set-tops compatible with one of the most widely used and secure conditional access (CA) technologies.
The first Pace set-top validated for use with MediaCipher CA technology is the Pace DC-755 HD, which provides an additional choice for broadband network operators selecting Motorola's access control system. Motorola established the MediaCipher validation program to enable qualified set-top manufacturers to integrate Motorola's MediaCipher CA technology into their digital set-top hardware platforms.
Currently installed in over 26 million digital set-tops worldwide, Motorola's CA technology is recognized for its comprehensive access control functionality and unsurpassed security. The Motorola MediaCipher system - consisting of a headend-resident access control management system and MediaCipher-enabled set-tops - allows operators to rapidly launch a variety of value-added services by supporting features that include service authorisations, such as impulse pay-per-view, authenticated report-back processing, near-video-on-demand, video-on-demand (VOD), and secured software download.
