LinkXP wireless camera technology performs for Eurovision Song Contest

The British wireless camera system from Link Research transmitted the live pictures of the Eurovision Song Contest to audiences Europe-wide.
Several LinkXP systems, which are designed and manufactured by Link Research, were used extensively throughout the show, which was delivered live by Latvian Television, LTV, working with the Swedish broadcaster, SVT.
The LinkXPs were used with a Steadicam for close-up shots of the performers on stage throughout the show and on a rail system in the audience for longer views.
Being wireless, it was no problem to take the LinkXP behind the scenes into the Green Room to capture the singers relaxing during the tense voting period and during the Swedish commercial breaks.
"The LinkXP did a great job and everybody involved was pleased with its performance," said Jan Broman of Protel, Stockholm, who supplied the equipment.
