Cubiware Unveils Development Partner Program
Cubiware has announced the public launch of the Cubiware Development Partner Program.
Among the first development companies to be certified in the program is TV-applications experts Sofia Digital based in Finland. Cubiware Partner Program trains and certifies software development companies to add enhanced capabilities to pay-TV systems running CubiTV middleware. The program enables pay-TV operators to rapidly extend the features and offerings of their systems by engaging the services of independent development houses that have been certified by Cubiware as experts in the CubiSDK software development kit.
Companies have been contracted by DNA - a leading multi-play operator from Finland with approximately three million subscribers in cable, antenna and mobile - to integrate and deploy the Finnish multiscreen catch-up TV service DNA Welho MatkaTV into three different models of the CubiTV-equipped multi-tuner STBs that DNA uses for its cable and DTT pay-TV operations.
"The fact that Cubiware was able to connect us with developers that they have directly trained and certified made it much easier to find someone who would be able to quickly and efficiently understand what we wanted and how best to make it work with our CubiTV platform," said Mikko Saarentaus, director of television business at DNA. "And of course it gave us extra confidence that Sofia Digital was the right developer for the job, which has since been proven by the excellent work that they've done in implementing our vision for the MatkaTV integration."
The CEO of Sofia Digital, Mr. Ari Pöyhtäri commented: "The Cubiware CubiSDK enabled us to do the development for local TV-operator. CubiTV platform helped us greatly in building the DNA Welho MatkaTV application according to the local needs of DNA to expand the OTT-service offerings utilizing existing receiver base in Finnish receiver retail markets."
"We're very pleased to offer a formal process by which third-party developers can learn the full range of capabilities that can be enabled using CubiSDK with CubiTV," said Maciej Grzonkowski, CTO of Cubiware. "The knowledge and recognition that these developers gain will be a huge advantage as they position themselves to seek contracts from the ever-expanding array of CubiTV operators around the world. And the skills that the developers learn will enable the operators that hire them to offer innovative pay-TV features that will help keep the subscriber base of CubiTV systems growing and engaged."
