IBC Support Announced For UK Exhibitors
The UK government's Trade and Investment (UKTI) department is providing support for British companies exhibiting at this year's IBC show in Amsterdam.
The venture is being sponsored by UK industry body Intellect and managed by export outreach specialist Tradefair, which establishes and runs a number of pavilions under the GREAT Britain brand.
It seeks to give a "strong presence" to the British companies exhibiting at IBC, as well as providing a shared meeting room and hospitality facility.
"Britain can justly claim to have led the world in the invention and development of radio, television and the web," a statement from Tradefair said.
"British companies large and small continue to innovate and sell their products on the global stage. To help them bring their offerings to the widest possible market, UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) is once more providing support for British exhibitors at IBC2013."
The venture will also include a number of 'special services' to help new companies maximise export opportunities.
These include the Business Matching service, supported by Digital TV Group, ICT Knowledge Transfer Network and UKTI.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) helps UK-based companies succeed in the global economy, as well as assisting overseas companies in bringing their investment to the British economy.
It offers expertise and contacts through a network of specialists in the UK and in British embassies and other diplomatic offices around the world.
"The global reach of IBC is quite remarkable, and as businesses look to develop markets around the world it is the one event we recommend above any other," said Mark Birchall of Tradefair.
"We take the complexity and the risk out of exhibiting at IBC, giving our participants a ready-made space into which they can drop their demonstration and their marketing materials, and concentrate on developing business relationships."
The IBC2013 group has 68 participants, including Alan Dick, Astec Solutions, Brightday Engineering, Clear-Com, Elite Antennas, Emotion Systems, Focalpoint Server, GB Labs, Nativ, OASYS, On Screen Publishing, Open Broadcast Solutions, Phabrix, Rascular, RJS Electronics, SGL, TechBid, TMD, Vidcheck and Zetrox.
As well as the companies exhibiting on the GREAT Britain pavilions, the venture aims to support other British companies that are taking their own exhibition stands. The GREAT Britain pavilions are in various halls throughout IBC, with its hospitality area located in Hall 4.A61 and Hall 8.B38.
IBC runs from 12 to 17 September at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam. This year it will bring together more than 50,000 attendees from more than 160 countries. The exhibition is host to around 1,400 companies.
