Seven UK film production companies receive funding

The Film Council are to invest £1,171,000 in seven company slate deals, intended to develop a slew of high quality feature films for British and international cinema audiences.
The Film Council's Development Fund, which recently announced investment in a range of new single film projects including 'Crosstown Traffic', to be directed by 'Bloody Sunday' director Paul Greengrass, have agreed to put money into several prolific production outfits, all with a wide and diverse range of scripts for the big screen.
The companies are receiving the second part of a proposed three year business investment scheme, set up by the Development Fund and originally announced in July and November 2001, following a review of their first year.
The cash boosts include: £216,000 for Autonomous, £130,000 for Company Films, £250,000 for Ecosse Films, £100,000 for Gruber Films, £250,000 for Kuhn & Co, £75,000 for October Films and £150,000 for Recorded Picture Company.
Various other companies originally awarded funding are either still in their first year of investment or are moving into their second year and will be announced in due course.
