Marquis Workflow and Media Integration Solutions at IBC 2013

Marquis Broadcast, specialist in content workflows and media integration software, will be showing the latest updates to its solutions at IBC 2013 on booth 2.A58.

Project Parking which assists editors and facilities to manage their Avid edit storage more effectively will be shown for the first time in Europe at IBC. Project Parking Version 3 is the only product available which allows a complete analysis, archive and easy retrieval of all media projects, freeing up valuable edit storage space. The solution enables editors to analyse all the projects and media on their edit storage by size, project, location, age, duplicated or orphaned files and then archive files to second tier storage, or delete unused media at the touch of a button, take snapshots of versions of projects, or move from one location to another, while still maintaining a usable and easily accessible format for future use.
The latest version of Medway will also be demonstrated at IBC. Medway is Marquis’ flagship media integration product, that delivers cost-effective integration between leading broadcast content applications, ensuring products such as Edit Platforms, either standalone or using Shared storage and third-party MAMs and automation systems can work seamlessly together. Medway eliminates file incompatibilities often found in digital workflows to help increase the efficiency and the speed of data transfer.

Medway V3 now includes new features to support lossy and lossless JPEG 2000 encoding and support for H.264 encoding for proxy creation. The H.264 support is being shown in an Avid proxy workflow where ingested media is prepared for the off-line edit after which Medway can deliver full resolution trimmed media for Avid to perform the relink and on-line and finishing, allowing for edit workflows which are faster, less resource-intensive and yet produce results of the highest possible quality.  Medway V3 also supports AS-02, the AMWA standard for versioning of sequences.
The latest version of X2Pro, Marquis’ cutting edge conversion application for delivering Final Cut Pro X projects to Avid Pro Tools for audio finishing, will be on show for the first time at IBC.  The solution now supports REDCODE RAW (R3D), a proprietary multimedia audio/video file format owned by the Red Digital Cinema Camera Company and features lossy compression for video contents and lossless for audio contents.  X2Pro Audio Convert 2.1.9 now allows media from Red Digital cameras to be exported from FCPX to Pro Tools for audio finishing for the first time.

“Marquis is committed to helping Broadcasters achieve maximum efficiencies from their digital processes through our technology,” confirms Ben Miles, business development manager.  ”The solutions we are showing at this year’s IBC are our latest developments aimed at integrating an extensive range of broadcast systems providing seamless workflows.”
Consultants from Marquis Media Partners, broadcast experts who can bring their hands-on industry experience to a range of challenges for organisations engaged in the sector, will also be available on the booth throughout IBC.
