Pebble Beach awarded expansion project by 365 Media in Iceland

Pebble Beach Systems, one of the leading providers of automation solutions for the broadcast market, has announced that 365 Media, have added three new channels to their existing Neptune system for the transmission of Sirkus.
The new channels include a teenage channel, NFS news channel (live transmission 16 hours of day) which went live in the autumn of 2005 which is soon to be followed by a children’s channel.
The Neptune system has been handling the playout of PoppTiVi, the company’s interactive music channel since September 2004. The new facility uses server technology allowing for improved workflows and efficiencies. The Neptune system controls an Omneon server, VTRs, Screen Subtitling subtitler, Pixel Power Clarity character generator and two Network Electronics routing switchers.
“We were very keen to work with Pebble Beach again following the success of our PoppTiVi installation last year. The main reason 365 Media originally chose Pebble Beach to handle the automation for PoppTiVi was a combination of two key elements – firstly Pebble Beach’s already excellent reputation for providing outstanding product and service to the broadcast industry and secondly the flexibility and scalability of the Neptune system – and this has not changed,” said Alfred Halldorsson, senior technical director, 365 Media.
Pebble Beach’s modular, scalable products can be configured for any broadcaster: from a single channel to hundreds, or potentially thousands of channels. Whether large or small, every system benefits from the same intuitive, highly reliable software.
