Red Post Production and VPJ select new Critter Solution

Red Post Production and Visual Processing Japan are the first customers for Critter, the asset management solution designed by SALT Media Software Consultants of London specifically for postproduction and special effects companies.
Critter is the first product released by SALT, which provides Digital Asset Management (DAM) consultancy and products to postproduction companies. The company have developed Critter as a flexible, cost effective, off-the-shelf DAM solution that delivers improved workflow and productivity in busy post production environments.
Critter automatically finds and categorises professional format digital media – clips, stills and user-defined items – on a computer network. It makes proxy clips available through a simple GUI. When multiple Critters are installed around the network they co-operate to build an enterprise wide project database. A task scheduler enables creatives and technical support to automate processes and manage their online and archived digital media. Optional modules for Critter include browsing Discreet™ storage to help catalogue, import and export clips.
