BBC Head Of Features To Step Down

BBC Head of Features Nick Patten has announced he will leave the Corporation in the autumn after 11 years.
The Features team has recently been behind some of the BBC's longest running and most popular shows on BBC One and BBC Two, such as Antiques Roadshow, Crimewatch, Hairy Bikers, Bargain Hunt, DIY SOS: The Big Build and Flog It!
Prior to his job as Head of Features, Mr Patten led the move of Birmingham Factual to Bristol.
Birmingham's output included programmes such as Countryfile, Coast, Gardeners' World, and coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show.
BBC Controller of Factual Production Natalie Humphreys said: "I personally want to thank Nick for his support and kindness to me during the time we have worked together, for his unstinting hard work and immense contribution overall to BBC Factual Production. We're very sad to see Nick go, he will be missed and we wish him our absolute best in everything he does next."
Mr Patten said: "Features has been my spiritual home throughout my career, but it's time for change. It has been a pleasure and privilege to work with the in-house production teams who are second to none and I wish them continued success in the future."
He will hand over in August to Pete Lawrence, Creative Director, Features, who will take up the role of Acting Head of Features on an interim basis.
