Basic Lead Partners TV Brand Licensing Business
Basic Lead, organizer of DISCOP WEST ASIA (formerly DISCOP Istanbul) has gone into partnership with LISANS MEDYA, publishers of LICENSE TIME, a publication dedicated to branding and merchandising in Turkey, which will see the upcoming 3-day event expanding into the TV brand and character merchandising industry.
Major regional licensing agents will be invited to attend DISCOP WEST ASIA as part of the new initiative.
A special pavilion will be set up to bring together companies interested in developing merchandising programs in the region and a one-day conference agenda will be dedicated to business expansion opportunities in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.
In total, 750 international participants representing 450 producers, buyers and sellers of television content from 70 countries are expected to converge in Istanbul from 5 to 7 March for the third edition of the DISCOP WEST ASIA market and conference program. Distinguished executive panel discussions will highlight recent developments that encourage regional partnerships across the Middle East and North Africa, as well as those impacting West Asia’s wider multicultural television landscape.
"Merchandising is key for international content suppliers looking to expand their reach across the Middle East and North Africa," commented Patrick Jucaud-Zuchowicki, founder of DISCOP, who added: "The combination of improved intellectual property legislations, an upwardly mobile consumer market keen on leisure and consumer spending, and one of the world’s most digitally enabled youth demographics fuels the attention that DISCOP WEST ASIA will put on the TV brand and character merchandising business in this vibrant part of the world."

DISCOP WEST ASIA 2013 will also welcome the greatest contingent of producers and distributors of dramas based in Turkey; and will feature a co-production forum centered on original formats and scripted TV projects created in West Asia that are seeking additional funding from international partners.
