CABLEready Announces New Strategic Expansion Plan

As part of a new strategic expansion plan CABLEready is opening its first new office since the company was formed. The New York office will become a metropolitan base for the company to expand its activities involving the East Coast production community, cable networks and multi-platform program buyers.
The office, located at 304 Park Avenue South, will also serve as a new gateway for CABLEready’s robust international business. The announcement was made today by CABLEready President and CEO Gary Lico.
“This move marks a very exciting moment in the history of CABLEready as we look forward to entering our third decade in business,” remarked Mr. Lico. “New York is still the media capital of the world and what a great new base from which to meet with our existing partners and potential new clients alike.”
Maurizio Tavares, who was recently appointed vice president, global sales manager for CABLEready, will head the New York office and lead all international sales strategy and initiatives. Reess Kennedy, the director of digital media for CABLEready who was previously based in the Norwalk, Connecticut headquarters, will also join Mr. Tavares in the New York office. Mr. Kennedy’s move comes as the company looks to further expand its relationships with producers of digital content, many of whom are based in New York.
The announcement of the New York office comes on the heels of CABLEready’s acquisition of exclusive international rights for several significant programming properties.
These deals have included: the award-winning performance series Live From Lincoln Center, marking the first time the series will be sold internationally; Oddities and Oddities San Francisco from Leftfield Pictures, the renowned reality television production company; Lost Treasure Hunters from Ping Pong Productions with executive producers John Slaughter and Todd Hurvitz; and 15 titles from leading independent film distributor SnagFilms, including We Made This Movie from Rob Burnett, Emmy Award-winning executive producer of Late Show With David Letterman.
