ABC New York purchase new SSL C100 digital broadcast console
ABC's on-air news broadcast operations are undergoing extensive technical renovations.
To meet the audio demands for digital operations, ABC have ordered a Solid State Logic C100 Digital Audio Broadcast Console for TV3. The C100 will service the audio needs for various ABC on-air news shows.
The C100 is engineered to meet the critical on-air needs of the broadcast industry providing fully digital signal paths directly from source through to destination. The C100 that will be installed in TV3 this fall is a 56-fader/128-channel console with over 400 inputs.
ABC currently uses one Aysis Air and two Aysis Air Plus consoles in three control rooms throughout its New York complex.
The enhanced power behind the C100 is SSL's new proprietary Centuri Processor that contains all audio and control processing, I/O options, GPIO interfacing and fully redundant power supplies within a single 15U rack-mounted processor core, making the unit ideal for studio and mobile installations where space and weight are at a premium. The broadcast focused design is targeted specifically for on-air studio applications, such as news, sports and live-to tape talk shows, where fast and efficient handling of sources and destinations are important aspects of the audio operator's role.
The console benefits from proprietary hardware and software with full diagnostic support and the inherent fault-tolerant stability of SSL's purpose-built designs. SSL's unique processing delivers superior audio performance and great sounding audio tools.
