Pixel Power Puts The Sparkle In Gem TV Graphics

Pixel Power, supplier of broadcast playout solutions with integrated graphics, has announced that The Genuine Gemstone Company is using their broadcast graphics technology to facilitate onscreen rebranding and update speed.
The three market-leading UK-broadcast channels are carried on Freeview, Sky and Virgin Media. The company has also recently launched a US channel – Rocks TV – which is carried on DirecTV and Dish Network.
As shopping channels they are reliant upon the onscreen graphics to provide an inviting look and feel, one which provides both vital information and encourages viewers to purchase.
Andrew Smith, Director, The Genuine Gemstone Company, said: "Without graphics we’re unable to show any product so they are clearly mission-critical. The technology powers all onscreen text, complete product details, bugs – the list goes on.
"We have found that an increase in the update speed has the potential for a greater number of sales per hour, therefore increasing revenue."
The company has installed three high-end LogoVision 3D systems and has also bought PixelPrep 3D software, which provides offline layout editing and creation. They already use Pixel Power Clarity technology for tickers and stills.
Smith continued: "A major issue was our previous graphics technology from another supplier didn’t integrate well with our control systems and the ongoing cost of ownership had accelerated.
"For us the ability to change our graphics as and when we want and having a much more stable interface between the show controller and graphics system has proved very beneficial. Pixel Power’s technical support, creative services and training has also been far more forthcoming than we have been used to."
