Imagine Graphics develops new Pixel Perfect graphics card for digital signage

Imagine Graphics Ltd, specialists in computer display technology and digital video systems, has announced the launch of their new Pixel Perfect PC graphics card with hardware screen rotation specific for digital signage and public information display applications.
Developed in house, the new card features the DeltaChrome S8 graphics processor from S3 Graphics, 256MB of DDR memory, hardware assisted DirectX9, OpenGL, full-scene anti-aliasing and MPEG-2 decoding.
The new Pixel Perfect card has a suggested retail price of £250.00 + VAT and is available now.
Imagine Graphics is the only supplier able to offer a truly pixel-accurate, timing-accurate, application specific PC display solution for most makes and models of wide-screen LCDs, PDPs, CRTs and projectors.
The new, fifth generation Pixel Perfect card meets the needs of digital signage and information display professionals who have identified the limitations in standard PC graphics display solutions. Imagine Graphics has worked closely with many of the world’s leading PDP and LCD display manufacturers to fully address those limitations.
Pixel Perfect cards have been successfully used in a number of large digital signage and public information display applications including major UK air terminals such as London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Norman Garland, CEO at Imagine Graphics, said: “We are delighted to be working with S3 Graphics and their new DeltaChrome S8 graphics processor. The chip offers us the ability to rotate the display through 90, 180 and 270 degrees with zero performance reduction. This means that very dynamic digital signage displays can be created without limitations caused by processor overhead. For instance, MPEG2 video can be played concurrently with animations and 2D and 3D effects to create the most eye-catching and stunning displays possible – all in portrait or landscape and on any wide-screen LCD, PDP, CRT or projector. Coupled with the card’s ability to generate truly pixel-accurate and timing-accurate images on all makes and models of display makes Pixel Perfect a truly unique product.”
In addition to its dual-head capability, whereby two different displays can be driven from one card with different resolutions and different rotation on each display, Pixel Perfect can output HDTV video at all the current ATSC display resolutions including 1920 x 1080p. This makes it fully compatible with and ready for the new HD displays and TVs starting to appear on the market.
Imagine Graphics has enhanced Pixel Perfect’s Display Manager software adding new features such as dual-head set-up and control, digital and analogue output mode selection and EDID override.
Together with rotation control, anti-screen burn scheduler, screen orbiter and test pattern utilities, Display Manager has become an essential tool for display professionals who need to get the best out of their systems.
